License Activation

Activation takes two minutes: read your Hardware ID, get a key, paste it in.

Step 1: Find Your Hardware ID

  1. Open OneSigner Configuration → License tab.
  2. The Hardware ID shown identifies this machine — licenses with hardware binding are issued against it.

Step 2: Get a Key

  • Free trial: Portal → Trial — instant 30-day key with all features.
  • Purchase: Portal → Pricing — perpetual license, delivered instantly to your dashboard and email after payment.
  • Certificate customers: certificates bought from OneSigner include a free license locked to that certificate — it appears in your portal account with the certificate order.

Step 3: Activate

  1. Copy the license key (format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-…) from the portal dashboard or email.
  2. Paste it into the License Key field on the License tab and click Save.
  3. The tab now shows: status (Valid / Trial / Expired), plan, enabled features, expiry (trials), and whether the key is bound to this machine.

How License Keys Work

  • Keys are Base32-encoded and carry an ECDSA P-256 digital signature — they cannot be forged or edited; validation works offline.
  • An online revocation check runs every 24 hours against onesign.sg (7-day grace for outages). Refunded or revoked keys stop working automatically.
  • Some keys embed extra constraints, e.g. certificate-thumbprint locks on free bundled licenses — see License & Signing Security.

Transferring to Another Machine

Hardware-bound licenses move by re-issue: email support@onesign.sg with your order number, the old Hardware ID and the new one. Deactivate the old install after the new key arrives.

Common Issues

  • "Hardware ID mismatch" — the key was issued for another machine; request a transfer.
  • Key rejected — check for missing characters or whitespace from copy-paste; keys are one long dash-separated string.
  • Status flips to invalid later — usually the CRL check: allow outbound HTTPS to onesign.sg.
